Apparently I'm looking a bit "cheeky"

People are funny.  They tell you like it is.  Whether you like it or NOT!  haha.  I love my neighbor.  But she gives it to me straight.  Every. Single. Time. She. Sees. Me.
I get it...I am pregnant.  And huge.  And cheeky.  And you wouldn't recognize me if you saw me on the street.  Because I am so big.  And round.  Even in the face.  Did I mention, cheeky?  Oh, and just to get the point across of exactly how big you think I am, let's repeat all that 2 more times with even more dramatics and then end this lovely little chat by giving Matt a wide eyed look that says: "Good luck with that ONE buddy."

This was the gist of our conversation with said neighbor tonight.  After that encounter Matt and I came in the house and laughed our heads off.  I have been telling him for months now that she makes it a point to very animatedly and dramatically tell me how pregnant I am.  This was his first time witnessing it and it cracked him up!
It is pretty hilarious.

Here I am in all my 32 week CHEEKY glory:
Matt took this of me with his iPhone during my maternity photo shoot.
Who needs a camera when you have an iPhone and Instagram ;)

I had a doctor appointment yesterday and she said I was actually measuring a little on the small side.  She also said that that's to be expected since I have a smaller frame...which means I will might have a smaller babe.  Which is not that bad of a thing when you consider how they come into this world...ya know what I mean?!  :)
Her heart beat was 136 and she was rolling around like crazy, as always...this little one never stops moving and I love it.  She is a healthy girl and growing right on track at about 3 1/2 pounds right now.  Only 8 more weeks and we will get to kiss her sweet little cheeks.
And for that reason, being told I look "cheeky" isn't so bad.

 Right Matt??  RIGHT!!!!????!!!!

On another note, Matt was in a pretty serious car accident on Monday.  His truck is totaled.  The airbags went off and everything.  Thankfully, he is OK.  Very sore and truckless, but ok.
Funny thing about that truck is that about 3 hours before the accident, (which was at 7 am Monday morning  on I-15 on Matt's way to work) Matt woke up hearing some clanking noises outside.  He looked out the window and someone was breaking into his truck!  I woke from a dead sleep to Matt frantically running around the bed in his underwear looking for his phone and flipping on lights to scare the intruder away.  We called the cops and sounded the alarm on my car and the guy ran off.  He had the plastic sun shade that covers the top of the window ripped off and was a few seconds away from getting into the truck through the back window.  He wouldn't have gotten much...just some backpacking and hiking equipment that Matt had left in there from his trip to Zions last weekend.  Still, very scary!  Not the best day for Matt and his truck.

And to make this already depressing post even more depressing...look at my poor little pup:
She got spayed yesterday and has been out for the count today.  I feel so bad for her.

Well there ya go.
I was told I'm cheeky aka FAT.
Matt got in a car accident.
Drama got spayed.
Nice.

We have a new Friend!

Meet my dad's dog Maddison (Maddi).  She is living with us for a while and she is such a sweetie.  Dramas look in the picture is a perfect depiction of how she feels about the whole situation!  But that's why her name is DRAMA!!

Fun with Russell

Fun With Russell

My sweet cousin, Nicole, has been letting me babysit her little guy, Russell, a few times lately and I have loved every minute of it! He is the best baby in the world, seriously!!
I had to straighten my hair so Russell was chillin on my bed watching me one day and Drama decided to take babysitting a little too literal. She just plopped right down on Russell's lap!

He loved it though!!
He would just grab at her and pet her till she'd get sick of it for a minute and then eventually she'd come back and sit on his lap again!
When I would play with Drama and get her to chase her ball Russell would crack up! A baby's laugh is one of my favorite sounds for sure. When he'd laugh, I'd laugh and eventually we were both laughing so hard and I was in tears! Such a cute little guy and so much fun!

Scout

Drama's New Cousin
Matt's sister just bought a condo in March and she was so excited cause she could finally have a dog! I think she has wanted one forever!
She got a little black mini schnauzer and named her "Scout." I might be a little biased but black schnauzers are the cutest puppies in the world!! We got to meet her when we were down in Ephraim over Easter Weekend and I just adored her!

and so did Matt...

Drama loved to pounce on her! They are already best cousins!

Congrats on your new baby Kels!! We love her!

Bahamas Cruise

Bahamas Cruise 2009

We just got back from a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas and Key West, Florida where we had such a good time! It was my first cruise and let me tell you, I am a fan. Delicious (all you can eat) food, Waking up everyday and being in a different beautiful place, on shore excursions, on ship activities, soft serve by the pool, Shows, Dancing, Good times with Friends, a stress free vacation and more...I am ready for another one already!(And we will be going on one with the Olsen's in 28 days--I can't wait!) Those 4 days came and went too fast. But we were glad to come home.
We really missed the pup!

(Thank you Steve and Joyce for taking such good care of her for us)

We boarded Royal Caribbeans Ship, the Majesty of the Seas, at the Port of Miami on February 2nd and sailed off into the sunset. The next morning we were in Nassau (Capitol city of the Bahamas). We took a tour of the city with a local taxi driver named David. He showed us a fort, 66 steps, Atlantis, Paradise Island, Celebrity homes, different classes of neighborhoods ("the hoods" and "the rich peoples") and local Bahamian history.

This is the girls in front of Atlantis
The next day the scheduled port of call was CoCoCay (a Bahamian Island privately owned by Royal Caribbean) BUT...it got cancelled because the high winds were making it too dangerous to tender passengers to the shore. We were a little bummed cause we were all excited to lay out and snorkel and spend all day on the beach but instead we got a day at sea. It turned out being okay though because Royal Caribbean planned lots of extra activities on board so we had a good time. We played a lot of ping pong, lightning, gin-rummy and ate a lot of soft serve frozen yogurt twist cones, buffet food and snacks, took naps and saw a lot of shows on board the ship.

Our 3rd port of call was Key West, Florida and we all agreed that this place was our favorite! It would be the perfect place for a honeymoon. Such a clean, cute, quaint little southern island with lots of history, fun things to do, a beach, bed and breakfast hotels and more. Matt and I would love to go back here and spend a long weekend. At this port we all walked around downtown and then decided to rent scooters and cruise the island. The island is only 5.9 square miles so we saw the whole thing on our scooters in a couple hours.

While we were there the weather wasn't exactly ideal...let's just say I went to the Bahamas with out getting in a bathing suit once! Seriously, I should have packed more cardigans and hoodies! It was unseasonably cold there...the high was only in the 60's and the ocean breeze made it feel colder than that! (the day we left it was back up in the 80's! What's with our vacation weather? Snow in Vegas and Cold Front in the Bahama's and Keys...oh well). We were a little bummed about that but it didn't ruin it for us. We still had a lot of fun and got to see some pretty amazing places. All in all it was a great trip and totally worth the money! Every night we had yummy food and great service in the dining room and then we'd go to the shows and dance clubs on the ship. Cruising is such a great way to vacation! If any of you ever want to go, call us!

I will post more pics soon but I don't have time right now, I've got to get ready and go fly a 4 day trip back to the east coast!

Mack Attack

This is Drama's boyfriend, Mack. He is our neighbors boxer puppy and he's the same age as our puppy and they love to play together! Mack is about 40 pounds and Drama is 8 so he could whoop on her if he wanted but he just lets her jump all over him and flirt with him by nibbling on his floppy ears.

They just chase each other around the complex till they are out of breath and then they cuddle...so cute!

DRAMA

FYI: This may be a boring post for most of you...especially if you don't know Drama but I wanted to write a little journal entry of our pups daily things so I don't forget them as she becomes a dog. Anyway, you've been warned and you don't have to read it...But the pics are cute!

Here is the latest with our little girl...She is getting so big! She is weighing in at 8 lbs now and when we got her she was only 1. She is so smart! She has learned sit, lay and we are working on roll over (she does it sometimes, but other times we have to give her a little nudge to get her started). She has a boyfriend (a neighbor boxer named Mac) and they are so cute together, I need to get a pic of them to post. They chase each other all over the grass and through the bushes and then they wrestle and kiss till they can't breath anymore and then they both plop on the grass next to each other and cuddle until they pant it all out and then when they get their breath back, they go for another round of tag! It is hilarious...Mac just pounces on her!
She has been a lot of fun at home and she is a very cuddly little thing so I love taking naps with her. She just lost most of her baby teeth and got her big ones. She LOVES to play fetch and going outside and riding the scooter around town with us. She can jump up on the couch all by herself. She loves people and will mall you the first time she meets you cause she can't contain all her excitement. She hardly ever barks though...Thank Heavens! When we come home from work she gets so excited to see us and crawls all over us. If only one of us comes home at a time and lets her out of her kennel she will search the entire house looking on the couch and the beds and all of our usual spots that we hang out looking for the other one. She bounds like a deer after her toys. When she is just entertaining herself she will do sprints around the house or grab a toy and lay on her back with her legs in the air and chew on it while her legs hold it still. She has had all of her shots and the Vet said she has a big tummy for her size...but I think her little pot belly is cute. She is potty trained and she will stand by the front door to let us know when she is ready to go TCB (take care of business).
Anyway....We are having fun taking care of her and having her in our home.

By the way, we are too cheap to take her to a groomer every time she needs a trim so I decided to give it a try and cut her hair this last time...Don't judge her by my imperfections!!

Hiking

On Sunday we wanted to do something fun so we drove up Provo Canyon and hiked Stuart Falls. It was such a pretty hike and so refreshing to be outside in the beautiful weather! Have I mentioned that I love this time of year?
We even took Drama with us and we fully expected to have to carry her for at least part of it since she is still so young, but we didn't! She loved frolicking in the mountains with us, it was a good time! We jogged parts of the trail and she kept up with us. We all slept like babies when we got home though! It was a good work out and hopefully we will be able to do many more day hikes like that one this summer cause we loved every minute of it!

The Pooch

We have almost had Drama as a part of our family for a month now and I am just getting around to posting pics of her. Sorry to all those who have been so anxiously waiting to see her for the first time!

I took her to the vet yesterday for some vaccinations and she did great. The Doctor just loved her kisses that she gave him and he thought she was the cutest thing ever. He asked me if we had any kids and I told him we didn't but he stopped me before I could even get it out and said, "yes you do...drama is now your baby!" Even though she is not a human child I guess their are similarities. We feed her, bathe her, groom her, brush her teeth, potty train her, play with her. I am just glad she is finally sleeping through the night. When we first got her she would wake us up every 1-2 hours to go outside and take care of business. Now that she is older, her bladder is a little stronger, and thank heavens for that. Waking up that often is just plain exhausting! Anyway, the Vet told me that she was a healthy pup. She does get the hiccups a lot but the Dr. said that was normal for a little puppy and that she will grow out of them. She weighs 4 pounds and is growing like a weed. It seems like just a couple of days ago she fit into one of Matt's palms but now she is bigger than two of his hands. She is very playful and loves attention. She cries and cries if we leave her at home alone while we are at work and about has a heart attack from excitement when we come home to her...It is so funny, she almost climbs up the baby gate like a ladder when she sees us come home She has been a challenge at times but she has been tons of fun. She hasn't been a yapper too much, so that is good, I am hoping we can keep the barking down to a minimum. She chews on everything since she is teething but her favorite toys to chew on are her rope and toy rat. I love it when she spots one of her toys across the room, cause she will sneak up on it and when she is about two feet away she will lunge at it and pounce! When she isn't being crazy and running sprints from one end of the house to the other, she is the sweetest little cuddler! She loves to sleep on her back with her feet straight up in the air, it is hilarious. She is very friendly and loves kids and other dogs. It is funny cause the few big dogs that she has been around basically ignore her and trot off while she runs at her top speed along side of them to keep up with their trot and try to convince them to play with her.

Anyway, here she is:

Just Chillin' on the floor

Cheking out my camera

Cuddling with Matt while they watch TV.

About to pounce her toy

Laying on her back looking like a Vampire!

(sorry I am not the best photographer, but there she is!)

It's been a while...

Here's what we've been up to lately...

We got our little Drama and we are so in love with her...she is so good. She is only 7 weeks old and she is doing great at potty training! She wakes us up in the night every couple of hours to go...which is nice cause then I don't have to clean up the nasty stuff out of her kennel;) She is still so tiny but she is getting playful, it is so much fun. She saw her reflection in the kitchen stove the other day and barked at herself in this wimpy high pitched bark that was so cute. She spends most of her time cuddling with us though...especially Matt. She loves to cuddle up to his neck and jaw for hours! If taking care of a puppy is anything like taking care of a child, then Matt is gonna be such an amazing dad! He is so good to her. He gets up in the night with her and takes her out, plays with her, naps with her and talks so sweet to her....I love it;) I knew he would be a good dad before I married him though!

Work...I am working a lot of locals and two day trips so I have worked a lot lately but at least I am home every night. Matt is still working at the downtown office and we are both so excited to move to the AF office in less than a month....which brings me to my next thing...

House-Hunting!! We are trying to find either a condo or townhome in PG or AF to either rent or buy (we don't know...but it is looking like renting will be the smarter thing for us since we won't be there too long). We want three bedrooms and two baths. We have looked at a few and we need to make a decision so we will be ready to move in a few weeks...I will keep you updated with what we decide.

Anyway I have been a little busy lately but I am also just a bad and lazy blogger so to those who have been faithful at checking it, I am sorry, I will do better.

Also...I wanted to give a shout out to MCKELL, she is 18 today!!
Oh...and HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!

We are as excited as can be, the Olsen fam will soon be 3!!!

It has taken almost a month of me convincing Matt and I finally won his heart over...We are getting a puppy!!!! A Toy Schnauzer to be exact. We are so excited to have a little addition to our family. We definitely are waiting to have children but I was feeling like I need something...so a puppy it is. She is all black and we are going to name her "Drama." She is three weeks old right now and only weighs 1 lb. Full grown she will be around 10 lbs. She is the runt of the litter and has the cutest features ever. We will get her when she is somewhere between 6-8 weeks old (so around the first week of May). Here are a few pics of her:

AWWWW! She melts me!

Isn't she cute?!

And for those of you who don't know what schnauzers look like here is one I found on the internet so you can see what she will grow into.

(Only Drama will be on a smaller scale since she is toy sized)

I love how they sort of look like old men with their mustaches and bushy brows!

We are mostly excited to get her but a little nervous too. I have never trained an animal before so in these next few weeks I will be reading dog books like crazy. Here comes responsibility! I hope I can handle it! We will be potty training which includes getting up in the middle of the night to let her out to pee, taking her for walks, taking her to the VET, getting her haircuts and grooming every 8 weeks and teaching her tricks and everything. I have already bought her a cute little yellow sweater for her to wear! I am so nervous to be in charge of her and make her turn out good...I can't even imagine how you expecting mothers feel when you are bringing a human into this life! It will be overwhelming at times but mostly a lot of fun!!! Wish us luck!
