OCTOBER 2009

It's been a while ;) I have been such a lame blogger lately, mostly due to our lack of Internet in our house. I have put off getting it while we finish some house projects. That way we aren't wasting time on the Internet instead of doing projects and we aren't wasting money on service that we wouldn't have time to use. Matt's iPhone has gotten us by for a few months...I am convinced that it is the best invention ever!! I still don't know why I chose my lime green samsung propel over it...probably cause I don't want a $200 phone bill every month ;)

Anyway, October was a great month for us. We were so sick of being home all the time doing nothing but house stuff so we took a break from it and got away every weekend that month.
Before I tell you about us, I have to show off my brand new little niece, who was born on October 5th.
VIVIAN RAIN FOWLER
This is the little doll on Halloween...Isn't she precious?!?!

We spent our first weekend in San Francisco, California. We both have been there a few times before and LOVE this city. We walked around Chinatown and went and saw the Museum of Modern Art. We avoided the wharf this time since we have seen it every other time. We then relaxed at our hotel and watched Baseball...of course.

The next weekend we took a flight up to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Matt fell in love. It is so funny cause he normally never has a good thing to say about Canadians (mostly because every Canadian he knows is so prideful and flys their maple leaf flag and talks about hockey nonstop which bugs him for some reason) But he has changed and now he wants to move there-I'm not even kidding. I can't blame him though cause Vancouver is an amazing place. We went on a few hikes and crossed a famous suspension bridge, the nature there is amazingly beautiful, almost unreal. Then we went downtown and saw their China Town. We went to a park and then ate dinner at the "Flying Beaver" a little restaurant that doubles as a pub and terminal for float boats. So while we ate we watched airplanes land and take off on the river just outside. It was really neat. And then we went back to the hotel and watched baseball, of course.

Then we got to spend some time at the Olsen's Cabin in Accord Lakes, we love going to the cabin with the fam. The Marshall's (family friends of the Olsen's) came with us and we had a great time relaxing and eating and playing and chatting and watching baseball, of course.

The last weekend in October was over Halloween and Matthew's 28th Birthday (November 1st). So we took a couple of days and headed to Louisville, Kentucky. We went to the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Jim Beam Distillery, Churchill Downs and to a Monsters of Folk concert (one of our latest favorite bands). They rocked and we had a great time and stayed up way to late but since the baseball game had a rain delay that night when we got back to the hotel we were still lucky enough to watch baseball...again....can you tell I am being sarcastic? Matt is the worlds biggest baseball fan (Red Sox lover, Yankees hater) so he watched every single game this season. I am so thankful it's over, I have had more than enough. Matt, on the other hand, can't wait til next year so someone else can be the Champions in place of the Yankees :) But until baseball season is back, football and basketball and tennis and golf will do. Oh geez, I think I need a second TV in my house, I can't take watching this much sports!!

I don't have any pics of our weekends with me (I am posting from San Antonio) so I will have to load those later.
