Happy 30th LoverBunz

Matt turned 30 on the 1st.  He would not be happy knowing that I am exposing his age on the bloggy.  He is one of those people who gets grumpy about getting older.  I personally think he just gets better with age.  I even like those few gray hairs on his temples.  Oops...now he is really gonna be mad at me!
Here the 30 year old is with his best buddy Brad.

We had a little surprise party with close friends and family at Texas Roadhouse a few days before the big day.  I am shocked that I actually pulled off a surprise for him.  He is usually on to me from the get go but somehow it worked out this time and I was so happy, and so was he.  It was a good night!
Happy Birthday Baby,  I love you so much.  Here's to another 30+ years!

I am such a bad wife and blogger too...

Matt is watching football right now...he has 3 games recorded to get through tonight...that means I have to find something to do besides play fetch with Drama for 4 hours!
About 5 minutes ago, I finally got off the couch and as I started to walk downstairs Matt asked, "Where are you going?"  I said, "Downstairs to get the camera..." He looked confused, so before he asked WHY I said, "To see if I have something to blog about :) It's time to get back on the horse!"
So here I am looking through my camera and I
notice a few pics on Matt's birthday...OOPS!!
Everyone: Matt (my stud muff hubbster) had another birthday this year and I love him more than anything even though I totally spaced blogging about it!!

For Matts Birthday this year we kept the same tradition we've done for our last two birthdays and we went to a concert.  We saw Sufjan Stevens at Kingsbury Hall and both LOVED the show.  Sufjan is so talented and sounded even more amazing in person...money well spent!

These pics were taken on his birthday...when we got home from work Matt had to try on some glasses before he made a decision on his favorite frames and then sent the rest back to Warby Parker.
It started with me taking a picture of him in each frame...then somehow I got in a couple...then I was in the frames...as you can see, it really went downhill fast!!  In the spirit of November and Thanksgiving...I am so thankful I don't have to wear glasses...it's just not pretty!!

Just barely Matt looked over at me and asked,
"What ya doin' Tay?"
"blogging..."
"about what?"
"mmmm...yrbthay."
"MuhYYY BIRTHday?"
"yup."
"a month late?!"
"mmmhmm."
--lots of eye rolling and gasping--
it's true...
I'm a bad wife and a bad blogger too...

Happy 29th Matt!!
I am so proud of you and all that you do for us.
Love you long time!!
Love,
 Tay

Happy Birthday Michelle!! (aka McKell)

My beautiful little sister McKell turned 20 on Cinco de Mayo!  I can't believe she's not a teenager anymore.  On her birthday we went to lunch at Cheesecake Factory and they came out singing "Happy Birthday Michelle!!!"  We had a good laugh.  Happy Birthday Kell, I love you!!

My 25th Birthday in San Francisco

For my birthday this year Matt surprised me by planning a weekend trip to San Francisco (one of my fave U.S. cities) to see Ben Folds (one of my fave musicians) in concert.   The trip was a success (obviously)!!!
The first day we rented a car and drove all around the bay area.  We drove to Golden Gate Park then across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods to hike around some beautiful California Red Woods and then we drove on to check out UC Berkeley (I fell in love immediately and totally want to Matt to go to school there.  The area it's in is like a Sugar House area on steroids...so many fun shops and boutiques and restaurants.) We stopped at Trader Joe's (a must) and stocked up on kettle corn and other goodies and then ate at a Thai restaurant over there then headed back to SF via the bay bridge.  We drove through downtown and headed up to Coit Tower to see the city at night and then went to check into our hotel.
The next morning we drove out to Half Moon Bay before we had to return the rental car.  The drive on CA 1 was so incredibly beautiful.  I sooooooo want to live in a pastel colored house in a coastal city near a vineyard with a year round farmers market down the street. Life would be pretty swell.
We dropped the car off and then headed downtown to hang out before the concert.  We spent some time at the mall shopping, then we grabbed a quick lunch at Blondie's Pizza.  We went back to our hotel to shower, watch unsolved mysteries and get ready for Ben.  We headed out for dinner and dessert at Cheesecake (my fave) on top of Macy's with a great view of downtown while we ate and then headed off to the concert.  Ben was amazing (of course), I just love him.  We both had a blast.  The weekend was a perfect getaway and a perfect 25th birthday.  Thanks honey!

Louiville in Pictures

We went to Louisville, Kentucky for Matt's birthday (November 1st).  He loved the slugger museum and Monsters of Folk concert!  We also went to Jim Beam and Churchill Downs.

( I should probably learn how to make collages huh?!)

My birthday

THIS IS NOT LIKE ME...

Normally, I would NEVER post about my own birthday...In fact, ever since I can remember I've always hated my birthday!!
Seriously...I think I only ever had 1 friend party as a kid and it had to be a surprise party so I couldn't veto it. I think I ended up crying out of embarrassment at that party. Every other childhood birthday was pretty low key...the same every year: one friend, a sleep over and a lagoon or boating trip.

That was just my style.
Lindsey can attest to that...she was always the 1 friend who I invited! I'm not sure what it is about birthdays that I hate...probably all the attention.
Anyway, here I am posting about my birthday. I turned 24 on Tuesday and I actually enjoyed my birthday this year thanks to my sweet hubby.
He made it so special to me that it must be documented!
I woke up to Matt saying sing-songishly, "Happy Birthday" and getting an extra long hug and kiss goodbye as he left for work.
true love = extra long sleepy hugs and morning breath kisses on your special day!
As he was leaving I think he said, "Bye, I love you babe!" about 15 times as he kept coming back forgetting little thing after little thing....I didn't mind hearing it at all though. Plus, I love the smell of his Abercrombie Fierce cologne and everytime he came back I got another yummy whiff of it. As he finally said the real, "Bye, I love you babe!" my phone started ringing with the first of many homage payers to call throughout the day and I made a request for him to silence my phone on his way out the door--And he did it cause it was my day. (Sorry Jeslie)
Then I layed back down and cuddled with Drama and slept in for an extra hour for no good reason. When I finally got up I started to clean the house and do laundry. Doing everything I could to make the day seem normal...nothing above average...phone still on silent (I have issues, I know). I got Drama bathed, all the laundry done, the kitchen clean, the bathrooms wiped down, the bed made with fresh sheets and the tv room straightened. Then I got a text from Matt. It said: "My lunch is at noon today so be showered and ready to go. Love ya babe!" I hopped in the shower and took an extra long shower making sure my legs were shaved absolutely silky smooth for my hot lunch date. Matt came home with a beautiful bouqet of bright yellow flowers

I love them!!
Then we got in the Touareg and talked about where we should go to eat on our almost 3 hour lunch date together that Matt had swindled his manager into letting him take. On a normal day at lunch I would have no problem making suggestions of where to eat. On my birthday, different story all together. I finally decided to go to Pizza Factory just up the road from our house cause we were hungry and their Coke with crushed ice and soft bread twists with a Vegetarian Pizza sounded divine!!
After lunch we drove to Four Chairs Furniture where he ordered us some super chunky/awesome vintage frames for our 8x10 pics that we have needed for months. I will post pics of their awesomeness once they are made.
You might get jealous!
Then we made our way back home where we had a lovely time messing up our freshly made bed. Then it was time for work. Lunch break was over for Matt and I had to leave for the aiport to fly to St. Louis. Yes, I chose to work on my birthday, even though my 3 hour lunch date with my hubby was hard to end, making my day as average as possible was still my goal. Plus I got to turn my phone off again...FAA said so.
The day before my birthday Matt took me shopping. I got some BR dressy black shorts, a couple of JCREW Summer T's like this one as well as this purse.

I got home from my flights today and Matt gave me the rest of my birthday present which is this little number and my whole inspiration behind this post.
I have never received a better gift
Don't you just love his crayon art work? I do.
My Fave!
I love how he specified "medium." Apparently a "large" isn't 24th birthday worthy...

I've wanted one for a while now...
A clean car is always nice!
Yes Sir!
Even Better!
Trust me, they got better than this but Matt would probably kill me if I posted all of them ;)
I'd love to!!

Yup...We made an offer on a house in Sugarhouse...
We're hoping we get this house!!
It is a darling little bungalow with so much charm. I'd love for it to be our first home.
Mowing the lawn is going to be my job cause I love to do it, but this one will be nice to use some day if I break my leg or something. Maybe I can get him to do it with his shirt off!

Thanks Babe for a great 24th birthday. You made it so special. I love you!

Thank You:

Steve and Joyce for the salad spinner and anthropologie gift card
Dad for the $$.
Mom for the jewelry and jewelry hanger.
Grandparents for the $$.
Jeslie for the workout clothes--I love them!
Colton for the plethora of bath and body supplies.
And thanks to all of you for your texts, fb comments and who's calls I ignored-no offense!!
You all made my day too!
