Sundance Film Festival

We were able to see two films at the festival this year.  Our favorite was "Exit Through the Gift Shop" by Banksy.  We also enjoyed seeing what Banksy was up to while in PC.

We headed up to Park City with Mike and Rainy yesterday to go shopping and check out the festivities going on with the film festival this year. It was super cold and Rainy's brand new high heels were killing her feet but after we stopped and got some hot drinks and some comfy/cute Roxy slip-ons for Rainy we had a great time! David Archuletta was singing up there and there were plenty of other stars but we didn't stay long enough to spot anybody too famous this time. We had a great time just being up there in that atmosphere!

Park City

We spent the weekend in Park City. It was a winter retreat with Platinum Protection and we stayed at the Silverado Lodge at the base of the Canyons Resort. Today was our second attempt at snowboarding this year. It was fun to be there with friends and Matt's coworkers but the snow was so icy that the we didn't even enjoy the snowboarding. Matt, Mick and I slept in and went up the hill at about 11. We took one run on the bunny hill...and then it was time for lunch in the lodge with the group so we took a break. When it was time to get back out on the hill, we stepped up to the bigger hill. It was so dang icy that even Matt and Ty were slipping. Matt took one spill on the ice and was sitting there for a few seconds and Ty came barreling down aiming to spray Matt with snow while he was already down...he carved on his edge and it slipped underneath him causing his 250 lb body to slam on the icy hill. He slid and spinned and then just laid there in pain. Most of his body weight landed on his wrist and he was telling us he thought it was broken. He got up and made it down the rest of the hill nice and easy and then went to spend the rest of the day in the afternoon. Matt and I decided to keep boarding but this time we went back to the bunny hill for the sole reason that the snow was softer and more fun to carve in. We did one run and at the bottom we were just so disapointed in the snow and feeling bad for Ty that we just called it a day! We went to the lodge to retrieve Ty and he was all alone at a table still in pain. We all decided to leave and take Ty to instacare in SLC to check his wrist out. We dropped him off at it and then went home and test drove cars. (We are in the market to get me a Jetta). After we came back from driving cars Matt had a voicemail from Ty and he said his wrist did end up broken! How sad! Matt called him back and talked to him about it and apparently it broke just right and he may end up in a cast from his wrist all the way to his elbow for a year! I am glad Matt and I didn't stay longer to chance us getting injured! Altogether it was a fun weekend though and we are glad we went!
Moral of the story: Stacia and Juan might want to make sure there is good snow before they pay to go break bones on ice! ;)
